Sprachreise 3CK nach Dublin
Our language trip to Ireland
On April 22, 2025, we set off from Graz to Dublin to spend a week learning about the language, culture, and Irish way of life. Our flight took us via Frankfurt to the Irish capital, where we were welcomed by our host families at midday.
On the second day, we started with a guided city tour through Dublin. Our guide Patrick told us exciting stories about the city and its history. Afterwards, we visited the language school for the first time. There, we were divided into two groups and deepened our English skills in a playful way — including Irish slang expressions like “What’s the crack?”, which means “What’s up?”. Our teachers were very friendly and created a nice and fun learning atmosphere.
On Thursday morning, we visited the famous emigration ship Jeanie Johnston. It was fascinating to learn more about life on board and the historical background of that time. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to explore Dublin’s city center on our own. We spent the afternoon again at the language school.
Sporty activities were also part of the program: the Howth Cliff Walk was a real highlight for many of us even though the weather was grey and windy- typically Irish! Another WOW-experience was the Saturday trip to Glendalough. There, Ireland’s nature showed its most beautiful side: green meadows, clear lakes, peacefully grazing sheep, and bright yellow gorse bushes – simply magical! Afterwards, we visited the coastal town of Bray, where we spent relaxing hours at the beautiful Bray Beach.
One of our last excursions took us to Malahide Castle. Unfortunately, we could only view the castle from the outside, but the well-kept estate still left a lasting impression.
The special final moment of our trip was a visit to a typical Irish pub, where two young musicians played traditional songs. And we were allowed — or better said, we “had to” — sing along. A joyful and unforgettable experience!
The weather was also kind to us – after the initially typical Irish weather, the sun became a faithful companion on our journey. 🌞🍀
On April 29, 2025, we finally began our journey home. With many beautiful memories in our bags, we were very happy to see our loved ones again.
