From 25th September to 2nd October, our class 3AK had an amazing trip to Cambridge. We are students of the International Business branch, and this week was a great chance to improve our English and discover a new culture.
Our journey started very early, at 4 a.m., at Graz Airport. Everyone was sleepy but also very excited. We flew to Frankfurt, had a short stop there, and then continued to London Heathrow. Around 10 a.m., we arrived and took a bus to Cambridge. On the first day, we visited Anglia Ruskin University and had a guided walking tour through the city. The guide told us many interesting facts about the history of Cambridge and its famous colleges. In the evening, we met our host families, who were welcoming and kind.

From Monday to Friday, we had English lessons from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Our teacher at the university was called Eddy. He was funny, patient, and made the lessons interesting. In the afternoons, we enjoyed different activities. On Friday, we went on a beautiful walk to Grantchester. The landscape was lovely, and we even saw how the TV series Grantchester was filmed! Later, we sat in a cozy pub with our teacher, Mr. Luger, and relaxed until we had to head back to our host families.

On Saturday, we took the train to London. Mr. Luger gave us a guided tour, and we visited Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. After that, we had some free time to explore, go shopping, or see more famous sights. London was big, busy, and full of life! On Sunday, we met in the city centre of Cambridge to do a short survey for our project topics. Afterwards, we could spend our free time as we liked, relaxing or exploring more of the city.

On Monday afternoon, we visited the city of Ely. Ely Cathedral was very impressive, with its tall tower, colourful windows, and long history. It was quiet and peaceful inside. On Tuesday, we went bowling after school. It was great fun, and everyone laughed a lot. In the evening, we had free time until 10 p.m.

Wednesday was our last school day. We gave short presentations, showed our improved English skills, and received our certificates. Afterwards, we had a fun treasure hunt in the city centre. Everyone was full of energy, and the winners received a box of chocolates.

On Thursday morning, our wonderful trip came to an end. We were picked up at 4 a.m., flew from London to Vienna, and then to Graz. It was an unforgettable week full of learning, fun, and great memories. We all enjoyed our time in Cambridge very much!
