Our Trip to Brussels - 2026

The BHAK/BHAS Grazbachgasse did it again!

Our trip to Brussels was an unforgettable experience. On April 12th, we boarded our first train to Vienna at 3:00 PM. From Vienna’s main station, we continued our journey to Brussels on a night train. Although the space was quite small, we still had a lot of fun! The night itself wasn’t very restful, but that only made us more excited for Brussels.
On Monday, April 13th, we arrived after a 17-hour-long train ride and a small breakfast and began exploring the city. The first impression was amazing! After looking around for a while, we took the metro for a few minutes and then walked the last 15 minutes to our hotel, where we checked in and freshened up. Afterwards, we took a half-hour walk to the Grande Place. There, we had an old city rally where we had to look for certain attractions and buildings and overall had a really great time.
On Tuesday, April 14th, we visited the European Parliament in the morning, where we had a guided tour. It was extremely interesting. We learned a lot. Afterwards, we had some free time to grab lunch, which was Belgian fries and chocolate nearly every day. After everyone returned to the agreed meeting spot, we visited the Parlamentarium together with students from Hungary and Italy, whom we had already met twice online through our 2 EU days, where we basically just talked, made tasks and a presentation together and got to know us in small groups. There, we learned more about the history of the European Parliament and the European Union. The rest of the afternoon was free for us to explore the city.
On Wednesday, April 15th, we went to the House of European History. On the way, we walked through a beautiful park filled with animals. At the museum, we had a guided tour in German, which we really enjoyed. In the afternoon, we visited the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, where we met the Hungarian group again to exchange a few pieces of information about our culture. In the evening, we headed back to the train station and boarded our train at 7:06 PM. The next day we arrived back in Graz around 1 PM.
It was the best and the most wonderful school trip we had in a very long time. Even though the trip was exhausting, it was an incredible experience that we will remember forever.
