International Women’s Day at BHAK/BHAS Graz

To celebrate International Women’s Day, BHAK/BHAS Graz’s EU-Ambassadors team hosted a digital quiz on influential women in the EU. Students raced to answer correctly, with the first 20 winners earning a sweet surprise.

To celebrate International Women’s Day on 9 March 2026, the EU-Ambassadors team, consisting of Valeria Lagger, Berka Lena, Obradovic Euridike, Bilbija Anja, Grundner Anna and Saprykin Yehor at BHAK/BHAS Graz organized an interactive quiz that was carried out over a whole week. Using MS Forms, they created a digital challenge focusing on important female personalities in the European Union, giving participants the chance to both test and expand their knowledge.
Students from different classes took part. Many students highlighted that they enjoyed learning about influential women they had not heard of before. A particularly motivating element was the small competition: the first 20 students who answered all questions correctly received a sweet surprise. This reward created a fun and lively atmosphere, and it was clear that everyone appreciated the extra incentive. As one could see, participation was high and the feedback from students was positive.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the activity successfully raised awareness about women’s achievements and the importance of gender equality in the European Union, a work still in progress in many parts of the world. It also showed how learning about European values can be both meaningful, enjoyable and SWEET when students are actively involved.
