EU DAY 2 – “More Europeans – More Europe”
EU DAY 2 brought together more than 50 students from across Europe for an inspiring and engaging day of online collaboration and preparation for the upcoming Erasmus+ mobility to Brussels in April 2026. Participating schools included the Instituto di Istruzione Superiore “Carlo Beretta” (Italy), Andrassy György Catholic Business Academy (Hungary), Albeda College Economie & Ondernemen (Netherlands), and BHAK/BHAS Graz – Business High School (Austria), all of which are European Parliament Ambassador Schools.
Building on the foundations of EU DAY 1, this second project day served as an important “warm-up” for the international meeting in Brussels (12–16 April 2026). The event was designed to deepen students’ understanding of key European Union topics while strengthening their teamwork, presentation, and critical thinking skills. The day began with a welcome session followed by group leader presentations, after which students worked intensively in international teams. As outlined in the program, the focus was on project-based learning, with students researching and preparing presentations on a range of highly relevant EU topics.
The themes (out of 45) chosen by the students reflected current European priorities and challenges:
• Transportation
• Climate Action
• Trade
• Gender equality
• The Schengen Agreement
• The European Green Deal
• Economy, finance, and the euro
• Humanitarian aid and civil protection
Each group was tasked not only with explaining their topic, but also with critically evaluating EU policies, presenting different perspectives, and proposing their own ideas for future improvements. This approach encouraged students to think beyond theory and engage actively with real-world European issues. The final presentations showcased the impressive outcomes of the students’ work. The result was impressive in so far as they only had two hours of research, discussion and preparing a power point. Each participant contributed to their group’s presentation, demonstrating strong cooperation across cultures and countries. Despite a few minor technical challenges, the overall quality of the presentations was great.
EU DAY 2 was a clear success. It strengthened international connections, boosted students’ confidence, and provided valuable preparation for the upcoming Erasmus+ experience in Brussels.
We are proud of all participants and look forward to continuing this journey in Brussels!
